Back home in Istanbul today and thinking about ‘home’ in the states.
Summer IS Watermelon Salad … consuming an average of 2-3 whole melons weekly- that’s love.
Back when it was Gemini season 😉♊️… Mikla Roof for birthday drinks … all I wanted was to “go somewhere pretty to watch the sunset”
As much as y’all know I love baking braided breads, I also do a fair amount of weekday cooking at home…
Around Istanbul …. From Galata to the Hagia Sophia and on to Eminonu ☀️🧿
Just sittin’ here reflecting on all my bakes this year … even through ALL the craziness (where my fellow teachers at 🙋🏻‍♀️), I still found time for quiet moments + hours in the kitchen.

Food and Recipes:

Any recipes I post were either told to me by word of mouth, or given to me by friends. If I reference someone else's recipe I will give credit to the source where possible. Also, some traditional foods may vary due to my own personal tastes and issues of translation. Customizer.

Pictures:

These photos were taken by myself throughout my walks around the city, food I've made at my home, or food I've eaten while at a restaurant.
